The next generation of American manufacturing is being built right now, and Nox Metals is the supply chain behind it. We're a technology company in Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers, using software and automation to move metal faster than the industry thought possible.

We're looking for a Production Intern to help us tell that story at a higher level. This is a craft role first: you know how to set exposure on a real camera, light a scene, capture clean audio, and turn raw footage into a finished, polished piece. You'll work directly alongside our Head of Marketing, owning production end to end while also pitching in across our broader content engine. This is hands-on work for someone early in their career who wants to build a serious production portfolio, not just shoot clips on a phone.

What you'll do

Production (the core of the role)

• Own shoots from setup to delivery: camera, lighting, and audio. You set exposure deliberately, light a scene with intent, and capture clean sound, every time.

• Shoot on the factory floor and on location, with DSLR/mirrorless bodies (including our Sony FX30) and the supporting lighting and audio kit.

• Edit and finish in Premiere Pro, with motion graphics and compositing in After Effects and 3D/product work in Blender.

• Produce a range of finished video: brand films, customer-facing pieces, Reels and shorts, behind-the-scenes, and product renders.

• Handle the full post pipeline: cuts, color, sound, graphics, and export, delivering work that looks and sounds professional.

• Capture the floor, the team, and our customers on camera. Video is the main focus, with brand photography close behind.

Content and channels (where you'll also pitch in)

• Help run our social channels across Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn, with everything scheduled and managed in Buffer.

• Dream up scroll-stopping video ideas that make people click, share, and actually want to follow Nox.

• Help produce the Nox podcast: recording, editing, cutting clips, and getting it distributed.

• Help write and ship our newsletter to customers, prospects, recruits, and the manufacturing community.

• Pitch in on design: decks, one-pagers, social graphics, and print.

• Lend a hand on customer gifts, swag, and the unboxing experience that makes customers love us.

• Log every post, reel, and episode so we can see what's working and do more of it.

How you'll work

• Walk the floor with our sales, operations, and engineering teams and bring their stories out into the world.

• Always ask questions. Never guess when something's unclear.

• Work safely on the floor when you're shooting, and hold yourself to the same standard we hold our team to.

Who you are

• 1 to 2 years of production, video, or content experience, ideally in tech, manufacturing, defense, or a fast-moving consumer brand.

• A real shooter. You understand exposure, shutter, ISO, and aperture from hands-on experience, not auto mode, and you can light a scene and capture clean audio.

• Hands-on with a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Comfortable behind the camera (and in front of it when needed), and able to shoot polished video on a Sony FX30 as readily as on an iPhone.

• Strong editor in Premiere Pro, with working experience in After Effects and Blender. You can take a project from raw footage to a finished, graded, sound-mixed final.

• A producer at heart. You can shoot, edit, and ship a finished piece of content in a day.

• A good eye and a good ear. Your work looks and sounds as good as it reads.

• A creative spark for social. You can come up with funny, silly ideas on the fly and you understand what makes a video go viral.

• Handy with Buffer and with AI tools that help you move faster and smarter.

• Genuinely interested in why American reindustrialization, defense manufacturing, and the work on the floor matters.

• A builder. You'd rather ship a solid v1 today than a perfect v3 next month.

• Detail-oriented. Every frame, photo, and newsletter reflects on Nox.

• Customer-obsessed. Every piece of content lands in front of a customer, a recruit, or a future investor.

• A team player with a good attitude who makes everyone around them better.

Nice to have

• A portfolio of production work you've personally shot and cut: video, brand films, reels, or product renders.

• Experience with cinema cameras and cinema lenses.

• Comfort with lighting kits, audio gear, gimbals, and other production equipment.

• Color grading experience in Premiere or Resolve.

• 3D and motion graphics chops in Blender and After Effects, including product renders and animated graphics.

• Adobe Media Encoder experience, plus graphic design skills in Photoshop.

• Hands-on podcast or audio editing experience.

• Experience producing content for tech, defense, manufacturing, or hardware brands.

• Comfort using AI tools to work faster and smarter.

The details

• Part-time, in person in Detroit. Roughly 20 hours a week across three set days.

• $17/hour.

• You'll report to and learn directly from our Head of Marketing.
