The position is open to any Firefighter EMT/Paramedic Grade I with one (1) year full-time experience and/or any Engineer with one (1) year full-time experience, or any promoted Lieutenant or Captain.

- Applicants must have all required course and certifications at time of application, unless noted with exception language in the job description (i.e., within X months of hire or appointment and/or issue of this job description).

- Preference to be given to applicants with a strong background in firefighting tools, techniques, and tactics, and holding DFPC Pumper and Aerial certifications, and/or DFPC Fire Officer II certification.

- The positions will be paid the Administrative Lieutenant salary (129% of 2026 base pay) for an appointed Grade I Firefighter, Engineer, or Lieutenant, or the Administrative Captain salary (143% of 2026 base pay) for a promoted Operational Captain (to include additional administrative responsibilities).

- As this is an appointed position based on promoted rank, it is requested that individuals commit for a minimum two (2) year period, extended only as individual and division motivation might dictate, and/or the organization might need.

- If an appointed individual should return to the Line, they would return based on their operational rank (i.e., Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, or Captain), unless they should compete in a formal promotional process and be placed on a promotional list for higher rank.

- All other administrative benefits apply (i.e., paid holidays, paid time off, paid lunch time, use of district issued laptop and cell phone, etc.).

- The schedule will be on a conventional 40-hour work week (M-F, 0700-1500); subject to adjustment based on division needs with overtime to be approved by the Division Chief of Training.

- The primary work location will be headquarters with the use of a district vehicle while at work; subject to adjustment based on division needs.

-The selection process should occur sometime between August 3rd and 7th, which coincides with the end of the work period (07/26 to 08/08); the goal would be for an individual to transfer from a 56-hour week to a 40-hour week the following work period ( 08/09 - 08/22).
