Operate grinding machines and tools to smooth surfaces and remove defects, weld material, and burs from work pieces. Polish ground areas using fine abrasives to ensure a smooth, unmarred finish prior to final operations.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, with a technical certification and 2-3 years of related experience preferred. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate hand grinders and stroke sanders.

Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), One year certification from college or technical school preferred.
2-3 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to use hand grinders and stroke sanders.
Intermediate Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
