Full job description

E-commerce Marketing, Centre of Excellence (Assistant Manager / Manager)

The Short Version:

What this role is about: The E-commerce Centre of Excellence (Assistant Manager / Manager) is responsible for designing the e-commerce training that underpins Kraftshala’s marketing programs. You work with the top leaders of the e-commerce space in India, distill the most important ideas, and figure out the best ways to train the marketing leaders of tomorrow.

Who we're looking for: Someone who has grown brands on e-commerce platforms — not just managed listings or run ad operations, but owned marketplace growth end-to-end. Amazon Ads experience is a must. Beyond that, we're looking for genuine curiosity,  the ability to distill complex ideas for someone learning them for the first time, and a willingness to search for underlying truths.

Why you should apply: This is a role where you’ll create massive, visible impact in the industry while personally learning more about e-commerce marketing compared to any other role. Instead of growing one brand, you'll be shaping the next generation of e-commerce marketers — and watching the impact compound with every student you place.

About us: Kraftshala is India’s largest skilling institution in terms of marketing placements, with a 94% placement rate, and we are gunning to become the world’s largest career launchpad across domains.

We’re backed by a number of eminent investors, including ex-unicorn startup founders and CXOs of global giants like RedBus, NoBroker, Nestlé, and Performics.

The Detailed Version:

Kraftshala runs India’s largest marketing program (in terms of placements), called the Marketing Launchpad. This is a 100% live, job-linked program which serves as a talent pipeline for agencies (eg. Publicis, Dentsu, IPG, Hiveminds), etc, as well as brands like Nestlé, Nykaa, Google, Lenskart, Zomato, and 500+ other companies.

Unlike conventional programs, Kraftshala rapidly changes its curriculum, in some cases every month. For example: think about how important Blinkit/ quick commerce has become in the last 2 years, and how substantially marketplaces have expanded their ad platform capabilities, and how much AI has impacted marketing.

As the E-commerce Centre for Excellence, you are responsible for ensuring our programs are always at the cutting edge, such that our students are able to add value to our recruiting partners from Day 1.

This includes:
  • Developing Academic Content: Combining insights from your experience, plus conversations from E-commerce leaders in India, to create simplified frameworks for professionals and students. You would be asked to experiment with new tools, platforms, etc, to help our training programs stay up-to-date.
  • Consulting: You will be consulting students on e-commerce projects with our partnering brands. The goal is to ensure that the students deliver great results in their projects because that's how companies recruiting know they are ready.
  • Upgrading Training design: Using instruction design principles and tech to upgrade students’ projects, engagements, and assessments, as well as create successful playbooks.
  • Leading External Experts: Managing output of 8-12 E-commerce experts in your team who take regular sessions, project feedback discussions, and interviews. These experts work part-time with us and will report to you. Your job would be to select, audit, coach, and support them in the best way possible.
  • Training: You will also be taking regular sessions for small and large groups on a variety of e-commerce marketing topics
  • Analysing outcome metrics: Leverage data on how our students are performing during placements and in the early part of their job to figure out and plug training/ admission gaps.
  • Innovation: You’ll also be involved in building new propositions/products by creating and evaluating concepts as Kraftshala expands to different audiences.
  • (Optional) Social Media Impact: We are going to create a lot of learning content on social media platforms. If you are interested in this piece, we are happy to bring you in on the project.
To summarize:

The learnings that you’ll get through training, speaking to experts on the one hand, and simplifying concepts for beginners on the other hand, will enable you to consult on running better campaigns, which in turn will help you train better. This virtuous loop will help you become a kickass marketing professional.

Must-Have Skills:
  • 4-8 years of experience in driving growth for brands on e-commerce/D2C platforms like Amazon and Flipkart through paid ads. (We are not too fussed about the number of years. Experience is simply a proxy for capability, which is what we really care for).
  • Enormous curiosity for marketing in general and the e-commerce function specifically
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate their essence to new audiences
  • A willingness to add value to every partner you come across.
  • A structured, data-driven, user-centric approach to problem-solving

Good-To-Haves:
  • Experience in driving growth for brands on Quick-commerce platforms like BlinkIt / Zepto
  • Inventory forecasting & planning, and P&L management of a category

Selection Process:

Each conversation with us will last about 30-60 minutes and will allow us to get to know each other well. This will be a mix of online and offline interactions.
  • Setting Expectations: This will be a call to understand your profile briefly and share the details of the selection process.
  • Technical Exercise: This is a specific assessment designed to evaluate your fit for this role
  • Conversation 1: This will be a conversation with our Co-Founder & Head, Centre of Excellence, wherein you can expect to be evaluated on the competencies needed for the job. It will also be to go over your submission for the technical exercise.
  • Conversation 2: This will be a conversation with our Marketing Lead to further check for the role fitment.
  • Conversation 3: A conversation with our CEO to ensure that there is a fit with the Kraftshala Kode.
  • Extending an offer: If all goes well, we will extend an offer that will mention the relevant details.

Location:
Gurgaon
