About the Role:
The Shipping Coordinator in Sarasota assists in the shipping process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. This position is a combination of office/computer work using Business Central and AS400 and hands on warehouse tasks. This requires coordinating with customer service, carriers, and internal teams to schedule shipments, track orders, and resolve any logistical issues that may arise. The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining detailed shipping records, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. By effectively managing shipping operations, this role directly contributes to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment to support the company’s supply chain objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse organization.
- Proficiency with shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and freight companies to meet delivery deadlines.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely arrival and address any delays or issues promptly.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Communicate regularly with warehouse staff, and customer service to provide updates and resolve shipping-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain organized records of all shipping activities and generate reports as needed.
- Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to optimize shipping schedules and inventory flow.
- Cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Preparation of freight shipments.
- Warehouse organization and improvement.
- Other projects as needed.

The required skills enable the Shipping Coordinator to efficiently manage daily shipping operations by organizing schedules, tracking shipments, and maintaining accurate documentation.
