PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Maintenance Technician will work closely with Facilities Director and Administrative Staff to insure all daily operational, maintenance tasks are taken care of to maintain the value and appearance of all property and equipment. Employee is also responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing, or arranging for the repairs of all building operating systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Performs corrective building interior and exterior maintenance as requires by visual inspections and work orders. All maintenance needs regarding life safety are to have the highest priority.
B. Monitors, inspects and repairs HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and assists with system testing.
C. Insures building integrity and performs rough and trim carpentry, painting and drywall repairs.
D. Completes service requests and maintenance repairs in a timely manner and insures that all service requests and customer interactions are handled in a professional manner.
E. Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and insures proper documentation of said equipment.
F. Use computer system to track work orders, work-in-progress, preventive maintenance and work completion with dates/times and documentation.
G. Work with emotionally disturbed adolescents to aid them in developing good work habits.
H. Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by management.
I. Ensure Hillside Accessibility Plan is adhered to by assuring the removal of barriers to the greatest extent possible that may hinder those served, staff and/or other stakeholders.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Minimum of two years of college or technical school with courses in facilities maintenance.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of mechanical responsibility with aptitude and ability to accomplish routine maintenance of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A. Must submit to an annual physical exam.
B. May be required to lift and/or carry heavy objects weighing 75 to 100 pounds at times.
C. May be exposed to blood, tissue or bodily fluids and other less than favorable conditions.
D. Ability to perform overhead work and climb ladders.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS:
A. Must not have a record of a felony or misdemeanor convictions.
B. Must have a current, valid Georgia driver’s license. Must present an MVR dated within one week of request that meets Hillside’s driving policy.
C. Operate various types of equipment and machinery. Work skillfully and safely with various tools.
D. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Guided by verbal and written instructions, policies and procedures and well established guidelines.
WORK SCHEDULE: Normally, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Weekend work required. May be required to respond to emergency situations.
