Responsibilities

Highland Knolls Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. What You'll Do

  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
  • Support anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery as appropriate to your experience and credentials
  • Safely restrain and handle patients using compassionate techniques
  • Provide attentive nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients
  • Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples
  • Perform basic in-house laboratory testing
  • Take digital radiographs and assist with diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and treatment areas for procedures
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Communicate clearly with clients about patient care, medications, and follow-up instructions
  • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to promote an efficient workflow
  • Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Support teammates wherever needed to keep the hospital running smoothly

What You'll Bring

  • Current veterinary technician license for LVT candidates, or relevant veterinary assistant experience
  • A passion for pets, veterinary medicine, and exceptional patient care
  • Confidence assisting with exams, treatments, and routine procedures
  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills
  • Experience with laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging is preferred
  • Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring is preferred for technician candidates
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • A dependable, positive, and team-focused attitude
  • The confidence to ask for help when needed and offer help when others need it
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • The ability to anticipate the needs of veterinarians and support staff
  • A willingness to share knowledge and learn from teammates

  • Availability to work rotating Saturdays
