The Production Technician is a member of a high-performance work team. This team is responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment on the line to ensure production goals are met and the high level of quality our consumers expect from our products is maintained.
Harvest Hill Beverage Company (HHBC) is a privately held company located in Stamford, CT who purchased the Juicy Juice, Sunny Delight, and American Beverage brands over the past couple of years. Juicy Juice is a line of 100% juices and juice drinks sold nationally through multiple channels. Sunny Delight is a brand that appeals to kids and families and has been around for more than 50 years. The ABC family of brands includes Hug juices and waters and Daily’s Cocktails.
Key Responsibilities
Blending Technician is responsible for the blending of products according to the individual order specifications following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety procedures.
Individuals must maintain safe work practices while ensuring the department meets its goal of blending work orders daily, with maximum safety, quality and accuracy.
The position involves weighing, blending, mixing, and transporting both liquid and dry chemicals in the production of our products.
Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include but may not be limited to those listed below. Sunny Delight Beverage retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage’s policies and procedures.
Maintains a high level of sterile awareness.
Set-up and operate all blending equipment to meet the Manufacturing Order (MO) instructions per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Manage the inspection, unloading, and storage of inbound materials.
Process work orders efficiently and accurately per the Manufacturing Order (MO) instructions and the daily production schedule.
Able to perform basic math using calculators as needed
Create production batch samples of completed blends to facilitate Quality Assurance testing requirements.
Add ingredients to the chosen blender and process per production order.
Calculate quantities. Weigh, verify, document, and complete batches.
Blend various juices using mixers, pumps, pipes, hoses, flow meters, and tanks.
Blend various water blends using minerals, salts, and other equipment.
Adjust batches, and accurately complete batch correction worksheets and related documentation.
Properly disassemble & reassemble equipment for cleaning, following all safety guidelines.
Understand all part numbers, lot numbers, and product descriptions as they relate to the Manufacturing Order (MO).
Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
Update and maintain all required logs and paperwork within the department (i.e., equipment use, cleaning logs, Manufacturing Order (MO), etc.) accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrity.
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum two years’ production or electrical mechanical experience.
Be able to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
Able to work well in a team-based, diverse culture.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Must have a stable work history.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must be willing and able to work any shift with overtime as required.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.
Must submit to and pass a background check.
Must be able to successfully pass a basic skills assessment.
Physical Requirements:
Stand on hard surfaces such as concrete for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds
Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, and other structures on equipment or buildings to inspect, operate, maintain, or troubleshoot
Bend at the knees, twist the back, and kneel as needed to access equipment for operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting
Work indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures and humidity levels
Function effectively in areas of high noise while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work around steam, pressure points, chemicals, and other potential hazards.
