SUMMARY:  The In-Process Inspector I, under supervision, is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and verifying product quality throughout the manufacturing process for Glass-to-Metal Seal (GTMS) and High-Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (HTCC) components. The role ensures compliance with JEDEC standards, internal specifications, and customer requirements to maintain product integrity and process control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform in-process inspections at critical manufacturing stages for GTMS and HTCC products
  • Verify dimensional, visual, and functional characteristics against drawings, specifications, and control plans
  • Inspect components for defects such as cracks, voids, misalignment, contamination, and/or seal integrity issues 
  • Utilize measuring tools such as: 
  • Optical comparators and vision devices
  • Micrometers, calipers, gauges
  • Microscopes (high-magnification inspection typical for ceramics and seals)
  • Ensure inspection methods and acceptance criteria align with applicable JEDEC standards (e.g., reliability, package integrity, and visual inspection criteria)
  • Use QCIP for inspection criteria

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity 
  • Ability to read and understand English as it pertains to procedures and work instructions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for assembly of multi-unit components
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills and processes to various jobs

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
