Responsibilities
Econergy is seeking a Project Engineer to drive our project pipeline. The successful candidate will support the Business Development, M&A, and EPC teams by managing technical delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities
Design & Performance: Produce preliminary layouts, PVSyst reports, and detailed performance analyses for pipeline projects (Utility-scale PV, BESS, and Wind).
Lifecycle Engineering: Provide technical input from initial site assessment through to techno-economic feasibility, construction monitoring, final acceptance, and ongoing operations.
Strategic Support: Act as a technical advisor for project development, M&A activities, and operational optimization.
Technical Due Diligence: Manage the technical due diligence (TDD) process, including coordination with external advisors and lenders' engineers.
Documentation: Review and prepare comprehensive technical packages including Layouts, SLD, technical specifications, reports, proposals, calculations, and BoQ.
Design Management: Oversee external engineering firms during the preliminary and detailed design/construction phases.
Technical Assessment: Evaluate the feasibility and health of renewable energy assets through rigorous technical auditing.
Requirements
Experience: 3+ years of experience in utility-scale system design, permitting, construction.
Software Proficiency: Expert skills inPvsyst and other design software (e.g., PVcase, VirtoCAD).
CAD Skills: Advanced AutoCAD proficiency, with the ability to produce full sets of construction-ready drawings and site plans.
Technical Oversight: Proven track record in providing technical support for energy projects with direct accountability for performance and design optimization.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of PV system design, including the optimization of components to maximize energy yield (LCOE focus).
Components & Standards: Strong knowledge of electrical and structural components, including familiarity with Tier-1 manufacturers and international standards (IEC, CEI, etc.).
Interconnection: Good working knowledge of standard utility processes for interconnection approvals and grid code compliance.
Engineering Calculus: Proficiency in energy modelling, standard electrical calculations (voltage drop, cable sizing), and basic structural/mechanical principles.
Languages: Fluent in English; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
