Full job description

Position Summary

The Product Analyst supports the global Product Management function by driving product cost analysis, pricing models, margin optimization, economic evaluations, and regulatory coordination across the portfolio. This role serves as a data-driven hub ensuring profitability, competitiveness, and strict compliance, working in close synchronization with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and Regulatory teams.
This position is ideal for an early-career professional (1–3 years of experience) possessing a strong technical background who wants to bridge chemistry with commercial strategy and corporate finance within the specialty chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy & Margin Optimization

  • Conduct detailed product cost analyses, breaking down raw materials, manufacturing, logistics, duties, and importation costs.
  • Develop, maintain, and update pricing models aligned with changing market conditions, raw material fluctuations, competitive positioning, and corporate margin targets.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze product-specific and customer-level margins, identifying financial risks and opportunities for profitability improvement.
  • Support strategic global price adjustment initiatives by providing data-driven scenarios to justify increases against rising cost variations.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to evaluate customer profitability and recommend corrective commercial actions when necessary.

Portfolio Analytics & Economic Evaluations

  • Maintain highly accurate, updated centralized product portfolio data, including complex cost structures, pricing floors, and market positioning.
  • Perform economic feasibility studies comparing local production versus international importation, evaluating logistical, operational, and financial trade-offs.
  • Conduct economic evaluations for new product introductions (NPI), calculating projected profitability, payback periods, market attractiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Assist in business budgeting and forecasting processes by delivering product-level financial insights and predictive trends using data analytics.
  • Utilize data visualization tools and AI applications to build automated dashboards that support executive and management decision-making.

Regulatory Compliance & Stewardship Coordination

  • Act as the primary Product Management liaison to the Regulatory and Compliance teams, tracking product registrations (e.g., EPA, TSCA, FIFRA where applicable).
  • Support the preparation, review, and verification of product safety, handling, and transportation documentation, ensuring absolute alignment with SDS, GHS, and DOT requirements.
  • Ensure the product portfolio complies with evolving environmental, health, and safety regulations across target geographic markets.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline (an MBA or minor in Finance/Business is a strong plus).
Experience
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in product management, commercial analysis, corporate costing, pricing, or related analytical roles within an industrial setting.
  • Direct experience or strong familiarity with the specialty chemicals, industrial products, or manufacturing sectors is highly preferred.
