The position offers opportunity to work closely with attorneys who practice focusing on estate planning, trusts and estates, probate and trust administration, tax planning, and business matters.
The ideal candidate is proactive, client-focused, exceptionally organized, and thrives in a fast-paced professional environment. This role is critical to ensuring outstanding client service and efficient practice management.
Position Responsibilities
Prepare, proofread, edit, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, and client communications.
Assist with estate planning documents, trust administration, probate filings, and related transactional matters.
Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments, and client meetings.
Coordinate document execution, witnessing, notarization, and record retention.
Open and maintain client files in accordance with firm procedures.
Prepare engagement letters, billing materials, and expense reports.
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, financial institutions, accountants, and other third parties.
Monitor and respond to attorney emails and assist with workflow management.
Maintain accurate electronic and physical files.
Support attorneys with matter management, document organization, and special projects.
Collaborate with other legal assistants, paralegals, and administrative professionals to provide exceptional client service.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of legal assistant experience, preferably in estate planning, probate, trusts and estates, tax, business law, or a related practice area.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Experience with legal document management and time-entry systems is preferred.
