GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

The Admissions Counselor for Ministry Partnerships should be self-motivated, able to operate with minimal supervision, organized, professional, detail-oriented, a capable communicator, and willing to work flexible hours. They will provide leadership and creative ideas for strategic marketing with the combined focus of church service and recruitment.

The role of the Admissions Counselor for Ministry Partnerships is a liaison between DBU and the local church community that will create and manage relationships of pastors and student pastors who are interested in engaging with DBU. The Admissions Counselor for Ministry Partnerships will also cultivate new relationships with churches who strive to send their students to DBU.

This individual is responsible for recruiting students from churches, keeping church staff informed about DBU events, and building partnerships with churches throughout the academic year. Creativity and flexibility are essential qualities for this role in planning events; additionally, outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to represent Dallas Baptist University professionally are vital.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Admissions Counselor for Ministry Partnerships should be a person devoted to Christ and serving the church. Experience in ministry work is preferred and involvement in a church is required. An earned bachelor’s degree is also preferred.

The Admissions Counselor for Ministry Partnerships should understand the admissions process and be motivated to achieve goals for recruitment and enrollment. This position requires a Christ-centered approach as well as following the University’s vision of promoting faith and learning.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities for the Admissions Counselor for Ministry Partnerships include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Regularly communicating with current church partners to maintain and grow their relationship with the church
  • Searching and contacting new churches to develop new relationships and church partners
  • Collaborating with other departments on campus to find ways to better serve the current and potential church partners
  • Planning and executing events at churches and at DBU for the purpose of serving the church
  • Overseeing the execution of church related events by DBU
  • Providing a vision for how DBU should utilize church relations to increase enrollment
  • Recruiting students at all church related events offered by DBU
  • Developing relationships with churches that have gap year programs, institutes, and other post-secondary programing
  • Invite church youth pastors and youth groups to DBU athletic events and other on-campus events
  • Updating the DBU church master list to reflect the appropriate contact points for each church
  • Coordinating with DBU Chapel Worship, professors, and any other contacts to execute church-related events
  • Utilizing the Campus Visits and Undergraduate Admissions teams to facilitate and staff events
  • Assist with all Undergraduate Admissions events, as needed
  • Serve as a resource person to assist with special projects as requested by the Senior Director of Enrollment Partnership or the Associate Vice President for Enrollment
  • Promote and execute the Christian Leadership Institute
  • Promote and assist execute the Pre-College Academy Summer Institute
  • Assist Senior Director of Enrollment Partnerships
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WORK SCHEDULE:

Full-Time: The typical workday is 8am-5pm with occasional change to the schedule due to nighttime/weekend events associated with Dallas Baptist University as well as travel expectations.

WORK LOCATION:

The position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211

Qualifications
  • Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
