If a company is going to make a difference in today’s world, it’s going to have to think differently. At Organic Valley, our philosophy and decisions are based on the health and welfare of people, animals and the earth.  We’re a mission-driven cooperative, owned by family farmers, and we’ve been leaders in organic agriculture from the very beginning.  Once pioneers of organic agriculture, we’re now an established leader.  Organic is all we do.  We are driven by our mission to promote regional farm diversity and economic stability by the means of organic agricultural methods and the sale of certified organic products.

Summary of Role
The Community Impact Specialist plays a central role in stewarding CROPP’s cooperative giving, community involvement, and employee engagement efforts. This role requires strong financial acumen to ensure resources are invested thoughtfully and aligned with organizational priorities, while helping shape a strategic approach to giving that advances both community impact and cooperative goals. Deeply connected to rural communities and grounded in an understanding of cooperative principles, the Specialist helps bring CROPP’s roots and mission to life through local giving, disaster relief, community partnerships, and storytelling that amplifies the impact of our work and strengthens Organic Valley’s presence in the communities we serve. In addition, this role supports key employee engagement programs, oversees employee volunteerism, and leads aspects of the new hire onboarding experience, helping employees feel connected to our mission, communities, cooperative heritage, and one another from day one.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cooperative Giving & Community Impact – 50%
o Lead and manage CROPP’s local giving and community donation efforts, ensuring alignment with cooperative values, strategic priorities, and opportunities to positively represent our brand in the community.
o Manage the cooperative’s grant, donation, and sponsorship program software, including maintaining accurate partner profiles, transactions, and providing customer service support for all internal and external users.
o Serve as the central coordinator for all active sponsorship requests, driving the workflow, tracking progress, and maintaining consistent reporting on program activation and outcomes.
o Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate financial tracking and proper maintenance of legal documentation related to all giving activities.
o Coordinate disaster relief responses, including timely decision‑making, partner engagement, and clear communication to employees and stakeholders.
o Contribute insights and recommendations around giving to inform ongoing strategic decision-making, including identifying opportunities for greater impact and community visibility.
o Maintain oversight of community partnerships, cultivating strong relationships with nonprofit, cooperative, and community organizations that strengthen both impact and positive brand presence.
Community Engagement, Volunteerism & Partnerships – 30%
o Develop and oversee employee volunteerism initiatives that connect employees to their local communities in meaningful ways while reinforcing CROPP’s values in action.
o Partner with internal stakeholders to encourage broad employee participation across locations, roles, and work environments (desk‑based and desk‑free).
o Serve as a connector between employees, community partners, and leadership to strengthen CROPP’s presence, relationships, and reputation in local communities.
Amplifying the Message & Storytelling – 10%
o Collaborate with communications partners to amplify stories of giving, community impact, and employee involvement across internal and external-facing channels when appropriate.
o Translate community engagement and giving efforts into clear, compelling messages that reinforce pride, purpose, and connection among employees.
o Ensure consistent, thoughtful communication around giving initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community partnerships to strengthen both employee engagement and community perception.
Employee Engagement & Onboarding Support – 10%
o Support co-op-wide employee engagement programs, partnering with the Employee Engagement & Communications team on initiatives that foster connection and belonging.
o Lead and oversee key components of the new hire onboarding experience, ensuring employees feel welcomed, informed, and connected to CROPP’s mission and communities.
o Continuously assess and improve onboarding touchpoints to enhance the employee experience and early engagement.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the implementation of other employee engagement opportunities, cultural programs, social events, and initiatives as needed.
• Participate in special projects as needed
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.
