The Dispensary Technician is responsible for the accurate processing, packaging, and labeling of veterinary prescriptions while maintaining logs and reporting. They also provide support to veterinarians, assist in training junior staff, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards.
Candidates must have previous veterinary experience, preferably in an emergency or specialty setting, and possess strong knowledge of veterinary pharmaceuticals. The role requires the ability to lift 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and proficiency with veterinary software systems.

Our ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing accurate and efficient medication dispensing, can work in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to a dynamic workload. As a Dispensary Technician, you will provide excellent service to our clients and assist our veterinarians in the delivery of exceptional medical care to our patients.
As a valued member of our team, you will contribute with a positive attitude while supporting our veterinarians in the safe and accurate processing, packaging, and labeling of prescriptions. Responsibilities include handling refill requests received via voicemail or email, preparing controlled substances and other medications for in-hospital use, and maintaining accurate logs and reporting. A solid understanding of commonly used veterinary medications and basic medical math is essential. You will also play a role in training and mentoring assistants and junior technicians, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures and quality standards, providing compassionate and professional client care, and actively engaging in continuing education to expand your skills. We value team members who bring forward solutions to challenges within the department and are flexible in assisting with other duties as assigned.
