About this role
As a Transitional Housing Facilitator, you will be engaging with clients in the units we provide during their time in our service with the primary goal of supporting them into long term sustainable housing. The role focuses on supporting, advocating and guiding clients to engage, connect, maintain and build relationships within the wider community.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting whaiora to find permanent housing
- Teaching whaiora about how to live in a tenancy
- Assisting whaiora with accessing MSD in relation to housing
- Networking with social housing providers and private tenancy managers
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Has a positive approach along with a passion to help others
- Is flexible, adaptable, confident and able to make well considered decisions
- Has experience working and engaging with people who are vulnerable with complex needs particularly with regards to housing
- Non-judgemental and respectful
- Has strong professional boundaries and a good work ethic
- Is resilient, able to work under pressure and in challenging situations
- Has good communication and time management skills
It is desirable that you have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 - Mental Health and Addiction Support (or equivalent qualification) or are committed to studying towards one.
Experience working in the Mental Health and AOD sector.
Applicants must hold a current full, clean driver’s license.
You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
