About the role

As part of the Casa Esperanza Inc. team, the Conexiones ATS/CSS will provide services in a fully integrated, holistic, and collaborative manner using a team-treatment approach to ensure the coordination of all client services, both across Casa programs and with external providers. This integrated model aims to facilitate clear communication amongst all providers and eliminate duplication of efforts or conflicting approaches to care; details necessarily follow up and assignments; and ensure wrap-around support services are in place to maximize treatment effectiveness around clinical and medical functioning.

What you'll do

  • Implements all safety and security requirements, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and alarm and camera monitoring.
  • Reports all safety and security concerns to appropriate authorities and staff (i.e., 911 / Best Team, Emergency Services, Floor Manager, Program Director, Senior Clinical Staff on Site, etc.)
  • Responsible for crisis intervention, counseling, and groups as needed
  • Must participate in all mandatory safety and security trainings
  • Must participate in regularly scheduled Program and All Agency meetings
  • Coordinates all scheduled client activities and refers clients to appropriate staff for support.
  • Ensures that all windows and doors are secure and alarms are set.
  • Ensures that all items that are potentially dangerous are secured in a locked location, i.e. knives, curling irons, irons, razors, etc.
  • Monitors all use of client medications, including over-the-counter medications
  • Makes client medications available at prescribed intervals
  • Observes and records that all medication has been taken in the medication log
  • Secures all client personal property in the designated secure location and completes property log
  • Conducts walkthroughs every two hours and completes. checklist and logs as required
  • Ensure all clients, visitors and staff sign in and out
  • Communicates with Case Management staff before and after the shift about client issues or concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with Case Managers and Nursing Staff to provide assistance to the clients.
  • Observes building and grounds and reports anything unusual to supervisor / nurse on duty.
  • Records client issues or concerns in the Communication Log
  • Assist with returning phone calls to potential clients for bed availability
  • Compile and label intake packets for new admissions
  • Search belongings on admission and at discharge and otherwise directed by supervisor
  • Complete paperwork for discharging clients, ensuring proper paperwork is signed before the client leaves the unit
  • Pack client belongings in the event that a client leaves unexpectedly, including the lock-up bag, medications, phone, etc.
  • Help the Case Manager with supervised urine screens and belongings searches
  • Complete rounds with the client observation checklist to ensure each client is accounted for
  • Escort clients on Fresh Air breaks and meal times
  • Inventory linens and/or supplies as needed
  • Inform management if you are familiar with a client from your personal life, as this could be a potential conflict.
  • Comply with all Agency policies and procedures
  • Remain on the unit until replacement coverage arrives
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred
  • LADC II or LADC III preferred
  • Knowledge of addiction recovery process, or willingness to acquire within first six months of employment
  • Counseling and Substance Use training
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire)
  • Overdose Prevention training
  • ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Must demonstrate ability to relate to a substance use treatment population in a sensitive manner
  • Interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Manages difficult or emotional client situations;
  • Responds promptly to client needs and maintains confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service
  • Driver’s license in good standing

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 10pm - 6am (overnight, awake shift)

Physical & Mental Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Supportive Housing: Nueva Vida provides15 single-occupancy units, Dunmore Place & 300 Eustis Street provides eight family units, and Nueva Esperanza provides 14 individual studio units for a total of 37 units of permanent safe, sober housing for individuals and families, with on-site support for maintaining recovery and building independent living skills.
