We are looking for a high-potential Controller who is energized by solving problems, improving systems, and helping build a scalable finance function for the future.

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with curiosity, initiative, and a builder's mindset. You should be excited by the idea of improving processes, leveraging technology (especially AI and automation tools) to drive efficiency and better decision-making, and helping create a modern finance function that supports growth.

While the role is based within Benpro, the successful candidate will also oversee the finance function for sister company Prooftest Consulting and support the integration and financial oversight of future portfolio companies as they are added. You will work closely with ownership and operational leadership across both businesses, providing financial insight, improving reporting, and helping drive better decision-making.

As the organization continues to grow, you will play an important role in implementing scalable systems, standardizing processes, and supporting future integration initiatives. This role offers significant opportunity to grow alongside the business.

The Controller will manage one direct report (Financial Administrator).

  What You’ll Do

Financial Leadership

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for Benpro and Prooftest
• Lead monthly financial close and preparation of accurate, timely financial reporting
• Manage cash flow, working capital, AP/AR, and payroll oversight
• Coordinate annual audit, tax, and compliance requirements
• Maintain strong internal controls and financial discipline

Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Drive process improvement initiatives across finance and administration
• Champion an AI-first approach to improving financial operations and reporting
• Automate manual processes and improve workflow efficiency
• Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and KPI visibility for leadership
• Support ERP, accounting system, and technology enhancements
• Build scalable processes that can support future growth

Operational Partnership

• Partner with operations and leadership teams to improve profitability, forecasting, and decision-making
• Support job costing, inventory analysis, project profitability, and operational reporting
• Provide financial insight into manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, and service operations
• Help establish data-driven decision-making throughout the organization

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor the Financial Administrator and future team members
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth

  What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• CPA designation (required) 
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience 
• Strong financial reporting and accounting fundamentals 
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
