Under the direction of the Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Manager, the 3rd Shift FSQR Technician is responsible for performing food safety and quality verification activities along with supporting the enabling procedures that help maintain FSQR compliance throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs food safety, quality, and safety checks throughout the plant including pre-operational and operational sanitation inspections.
• Verifies and as needed edits/enters applicable information into the appropriate databases. This includes, but is not limited to: FSQR analytical data, HPP certifications, BOLS, billing, and pre-shipment reviews. 
• Reviews, maintains, and organizes records and files to ensure traceability can be fulfilled as needed.
• Works with both internal and external customers on product releases, notifications, and paperwork non-compliances. 
• Completes QA lab closing and opening activities in collaboration with the 1st and 2nd shift FSQR Technicians
• Collaborates with other departments within the plant as necessary to complete tasks and activities that support the growth of FSQR initiatives throughout the facility.
• Other duties as assigned by the FSQR Manager.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma
• Preferred bachelor degree in Microbiology, food Science, Chemistry or related field.
• Preferred certification in PCQI, HACCP, SQF.

Experience:

• Experience with ERP system.
• Preferred experience with Sage X3 

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite. 
• Excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
• Must be coachable and customer focused.
• Strong communicator. 

Physical and Environmental Working Conditions

The work environment for this role includes both office work and plant floor work. The conditions in the office will include time using the phone and the computer while sitting. The plant floor environment will expose this individual to regularly moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The environment is ventilated, air conditioned, damp, and with vibrations. Employees are required to wear the following protective equipment: hair/beard net, steel toed boots (or equivalent), and bump caps. Hearing protection is optional.
