The Construction Project Manager oversees assigned projects from start to grand opening, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule standards. They manage contractor performance, coordinate equipment installations, and provide design expertise to internal departments.
Candidates must have a degree in Architectural Science, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, along with at least 3 years of retail construction experience. Strong knowledge of building methods, industry standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently are required.

What you will be doing
Responsible for overseeing and managing assigned area/project(s) from start of construction work through grand opening, ensuring timely completion and adherence to current quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for a construction professional to drive projects from the ground up, working cross-functionally with contractors, operations, and internal departments to bring new and remodeled stores to life.
Main Responsibilities
Ensures assigned construction projects are completed according to the company's standards for time, cost, and quality.
Conducts regular field inspection on assigned projects, ensuring contractors' compliance with contract documents and takes necessary corrective action to ensure objectives are achieved.
Reviews and approves contractors' application for payment as authorized in management approved contract and purchase orders.
Schedules and coordinates store equipment and fixture setup activities to ensure timely occupancy of store including delivery and installation of equipment, utility connections, refrigeration startup, confirm receipt of all required occupancy licenses, and working with operators to receive merchandise.
Reviews and approves schedules for construction, equipment deliveries, inspections, and utility connections refrigeration startup, and receipt of all required occupancy licenses as required to facilitate Operations set-up and merchandising activities.
Provides design and construction expertise to operations and departments in response to questions in the area of maintenance and repair.
Assembles and approves contractor bidder list for each assigned project.
Conducts performance evaluation on approved contractors, architects, and engineers at conclusion of each project conferring with management as needed regarding changes in pre-qualified status based upon evaluation.
Executes disaster recovery plan for assigned area.
Provides budget estimating to operations and departments in research and development of Division annual Equipment Budget (AEB) forecast, including feasibility analysis and cost estimating.
Oversees all aspects of design and construction activities for assimilation of acquisition stores within the assigned area.
Reviews qualifications and confirms interest of potential contractors.
What we are searching for
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
Degree in Architectural Science, Civil Engineering or Construction/Project Manager or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years retail construction/project management experience.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of retail construction and retail fixtures/equipment.
Must have strong understanding of building methods, industry standards and building codes.
Ability to work independently and be able to plan, organize and schedule time and activities effectively to achieve work goals.
Strong project management and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively with and through others to achieve goals and objectives.
Must have the ability to represent the Company's interests to outside professionals and contractors.
Travel requirements: 40% travel.
Physical Environment
Office work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Construction site work is performed in external temperatures and conditions and is subject to normal construction hazards including trip/fall, falling debris and construction equipment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
Incumbent will use computers, cell phones, telephones and other typical office equipment during normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
