About
Successful track record building and mentoring high performing distributed engineering teams and impactful products. Strong pattern recognition skills and systems thinking. Critical thinker/analyzer, problem-solver and engineer at mind and heart. Passionate about finding the most efficient, secure, robust, scalable, and reliable solution for any problem. I have a track record of achieving outsized impact and results while operating under many resource constraints. I'm a product-focused generalist/full-stack software engineer, a jack-of-all-trades and master of several. I love early stage startups, and that's why I've spent so many years at them. I enjoy architecting and implementing solutions from the ground up and working with and training talented engineers. I am constantly searching for better methodologies and practices as a way to improve overall procedures, both for my own programming and for my department. Some concepts that I embrace fully are DRYness ("write once" philosophy), abstraction, encapsulation, and principle of least surprise. I'm a programming polyglot and also fluent in English, Chinese, and French.
