Ian Delahorne

Experienced Staff Site Reliability Engineer/Software Engineer with an interest for reliability, resliency, scalability, toil reduction solving problems for engineering organisations. I'm focused on solving scalability problems for the web, delivering users a performant and reliable experience based on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) on container platforms such as Kubernetes. Previous gigs include performance enhancement and prototyping new technologies for use by other teams, keeping the operations lights on, recruiting and adapting platforms to new market spaces. I deal mainly with web engineering and integration problems using (among others) Go, Postgres, Ruby, Kubernetes, Ansible and more. Most recently I've been focused on continuous deployment on AWS and GCP with ArgoCD, Spinnaker and in-house deploy orchestrators, but I've also had a long career deploying on bare metal various operating systems beyond Linux such as OpenBSD and Solaris. Previously I've been a developer for Blocket.se, one of Sweden's largest websites in terms of traffic. Before that I've been a NOC operator and written UI and backend daemon code for management of network element. This giving me a lower-level perspective of how networks and Internet works, both from an equipment and a human perspective.
