About Doug

📌 A key moment in my Software Development career occurred in December, 2019, while quarantining in Wuhan during the first Covid-19 outbreak. (tinyurl.com/WaPo-Feature) Urged to evacuate by the State Department, I chose to stay in Wuhan with my family. Undoubtedly a frightening situation, I focused my attention on building ESL MiniGames, a suite of JavaScript games to teach my students key concepts while also promoting engagement during our Zoom meetings. Overall, it was a resounding success that allowed for a more interactive learning experience. Moreover, it further instilled in me a passion for Front End development.
Currently, I am a Full Stack software engineer who's passionate about developing applications with an incredible user experience. I also revel in solving complex problems, especially as a part of a team. Finally, I am the type who works tirelessly to achieve project objectives, while always being eager to adapt and adopt new technologies. Specifically, I am captivated by new and emerging technologies that enhance user experience and drive user interaction with the product.
📌 Front End: React.js, React Native, Redux, Next.js, jQuery, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML5, Gatsby, CSS, SCSS.
📌 Back End: Node.js, Express, Python, FastAPI, Nginx, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, REST API, Redis.
📌 Other: AWS EC2, Netlify, Docker, Git, Babel, Webpack, Enzyme, Mocha, Chai, Selenium, K6, Jest.
