About

An enthusiastic software engineer who specializes in a host of technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Vue, GraphQL, React, Redux, Node, Electron, HTML5, SCSS/CSS3, Vuex, Ruby on Rails, Jest, AWS, ) and who loves working for passionate teams that are improving the world. Currently I am a Staff Frontend Software Engineer at GitLab, Inc, a fully remote, open core company, which develops software for the software development lifecycle. I come to work with ownership in mind; ensuring I ship high-quality, well-tested, secure code that brings an intuitive UI/UX to the user. In my career as a software engineer I have led projects, made technical plans to move codebases to current technologies, made large architectural decisions, put out fires, shipped new products, and much more. I love learning new skills and working with people to take on new challenges. Additionally, I volunteer as a mentor for new software engineers looking to break into the field. I provide mock interviews, guidance on job offers, and help them understand what it is like to be a software engineer and how they will fit into companies of different sizes. It is so rewarding to me to be able to use my experiences to help others make the best decisions they can; I am just trying to give back and help others. More skills: excellent communication and collaboration skills, user/design-focused, analytical, detail-oriented, object-oriented programming, agile development methodology, testing (i.e. unit, component, integration, and end-to-end), deploy management, source control, Git, GitLab, Jenkins
