Javascript engineer with 7 years of experience, seeking a role in full-stack web development. Interested in full-stack role but would be willing to work on either front-end or back-end positions. The ideal environment would be a company with a culture focused on helping employees grow to their full potential. I've worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a brief period but found my true passion in software development. I started with an internship at Llip learning the basics of the internet and building small projects. I eventually landed a role on a software development team for JS Station and contributed to building an application that prepares engineers for interviews through algorithms and tests. I then moved on to teach people with no experience in coding the basics of Javascript and the web at the local library with a non-profit organization GarageScript. Currently, I'm working on c0d3 which teaches people how to code remotely and gives them feedback for every PR they push up. The skills I have for front-end are Javascript, HTML/CSS and React/Redux or React/graphQL. My back-end experience includes working with postgres, node and express. Some of the API'S I've worked with are Mattermost, gitLab. The testing suite I have worked with is mocha/chai and cypress. I've worked alongside teams of engineers to design, refactor, fix bugs and do weekly sprints and daily code reviews. I'm familiar with git and vim and tend to work only in the terminal. My experience would be a great asset to any company due to my extensive background not only in programming but leading teams as well as my past experience in Mechanical Engineering.
