About

A results-driven Power Electronics Engineer (Member, IEEE & PELS, CIGRE VDE) with 6+ years of hands-on experience in hardware design, control‐system development and real-time validation for high-power converters. ➢ End-to-end Converter Development: At TU Darmstadt’s LEA Lab, I led three BMBF-funded projects—from system concept and MATLAB/Simulink verification to FPGA/MCU implementation (Si/SiC, 10–300 kW)—serving battery storage, solar PV and wind-energy applications. ➢ Award-Winning Research & Community Engagement: Published in IEEE APEC and ECCE, served as reviewer for both conferences, and received the 2024 Best Paper Award at ECCE Europe. ➢ Advanced FPGA & Firmware Expertise: Migrated floating-point control algorithms to fixed-point RTL (Intel Cyclone-V, Xilinx Zynq-7000) and authored low-level C/C++ firmware for TI C2000 and ARM Cortex-M/A SoCs, balancing timing, resource and reliability constraints. ➢ Hardware & PCB Design: Designed and prototyped analog/digital interface boards (ADC, optical-fiber, carrier) and led schematic/layout for a 3-level T-type NPC SiC converter. ➢ Real-time HIL Simulation: Programmed Plexim RTBox2 (PLECS) and Imperix BBoard-PRO (Simulink) for Hardware‐in‐the‐Loop and Controller‐in‐the‐Loop validation, accelerating development cycles. ➢ Multi-Protocol Communication: Implemented UART, SPI, EtherCAT, TCP/IP and OPC-UA interfaces to integrate converters into wider automation ecosystems. ➢Modeling & Control: Developed and tested Sinusoidal-Filter (LC/LCL) converter models, and formulated control schemes for commercial platforms (Sinamics S120, KEBA SOTL.610). I am passionate about driving energy‐efficient, sustainable power-electronics solutions and welcome opportunities to translate cutting-edge research into impactful industrial technologies.

Activities and societies: Working in Institute of Power Electronics and Control of Drives (LEA) under the doctoral supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing Gerd Griepentrog - BMBF Projekt: CyberStress Model-based Stress Tests for cyber-secure energy networks (Modellbasierte Stresstests für Cybersichere Energienetze) - BMWE Projekt - KoREV - SMS2: To ensure the long-term competitiveness of flywheel accumulators. In addition to a reduction in acquisition costs, this also includes a reduction in operating costs thanks to high efficiency, long maintenance intervals, and a long service life. - BMWi Projekt - StabLe – Stability of distribution grids with predominantly power-electronically connected storage systems, generation units, and consumers (Stabilität von Verteilnetzen mit vorwiegend Leistungselektronisch angekoppelten Speichern, Erzeugungseinheiten und Verbrauchern)

Activities and societies: Worked in Institut für Energieeffizienz in der Produktion (EEP) under the supervision of Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Kfm. Alexander Sauer BMWi Projekt - DC INDUSTRIE The move away from AC to DC voltage opens up enormous efficiency advantages and energy savings in the supply of machines and systems. The goal here was the demand-oriented distribution of energy within production plants with maximum energy reuse and minimization of conversion losses. In addition, the technically simplified integration of energy storage systems and regenerative energy sources as well as the system-immanent possibility of recuperation, i.e. the recovery and reuse of braking energy, offer new opportunities for intelligent energy management. For this purpose, the necessary methods for the planning, introduction and use of the industrial micro DC Smart Grid were being developed. Production supplied via the DC grid is robust with respect to fluctuating grid quality and can react flexibly to fluctuating energy supplies. This contributes to stabilization of the energy grid.
