Head of Product Design

This role leads design for a product that rethinks procurement by combining human expertise with AI agents, making high‑impact cost decisions legible and trustworthy for industrial buyers. You will build and lead a small design team inside a fast‑growing product organization, defining interaction paradigms, systems, and practices that let agents execute workflows while people supervise and steer. This work directly affects profitability for large industrial customers and shapes how AI and humans collaborate in the product.

What youll do

• Define how humans and AI agents work together across the product, turning a screen‑first product into an agent‑native experience.
• Create the interaction paradigm where agents execute procurement workflows and buyers supervise, steer, and handle exceptions.
• Develop mental models, UI patterns, and frameworks that make complex procurement decisions legible and trustworthy.
• Own and evolve the design system and component architecture to support agent-driven development and rapid iteration.
• Translate technical procurement concepts (should‑costing, raw material indices, contract leakage) into accessible, actionable UX for non‑analyst users.
• Build, hire, and lead a team of ~4 product designers, setting standards for craft, speed, and strategic impact.
• Establish design as a strategic partner in the product trio alongside product and engineering.
• Drive company-wide user understanding by implementing UX research best practices and advocating for real user problems.

What Tacto is looking for

• 6+ years in product design with 2+ years leading design teams at high‑growth technology companies known for design excellence.
• Deep experience designing data‑heavy, workflow‑driven products and making information density an asset.
• Strong systems thinking and experience designing in frameworks and patterns rather than just screens.
• Genuine fluency with AI as a design material, with a clear point of view on LLMs, agents, and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to move between strategic leadership and hands‑on craft as needed.
• Strong collaborator with product and engineering to achieve the best results for customers and the business.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required.
