Client Success Manager

About this role

About us

Sunset is one of the fastest-growing tech startups helping venture-backed companies shut down gracefully. The team has helped hundreds of startups dissolve over the last two years, has raised $5.5M from leading entrepreneurs and investors, and is generating millions in revenue across two business lines: dissolutions and data licensing. The data licensing business is the new growth vector — Sunset acquires real workplace data (Slack messages, code bases, email and call transcripts, Google Workspace) from dissolving companies and licenses it non-exclusively to AI labs for next-generation model training. The team is on track to do more revenue on the data side this quarter than it did across all of last year, and is doubling the engineering team this quarter to meet demand.

About the Role

Sunset, experiencing ongoing growth, is expanding its Client Success team and is looking for a driven Client Success Manager based in New York City (or willing to relocate). The role reports to the Director of Client Success and has two main responsibilities: offering direct support to clients during the dissolution process and managing essential wind-down tasks, including filing dissolutions and redistributing capital to investors.

As a Client Success Manager at Sunset, you will own a dedicated set of clients through the entire lifecycle of a company shutdown. This is a hands-on role that blends direct client support with deep operational execution. Success is measured by speed, accuracy, and client confidence, not revenue, renewals, or upsell.

This role is a core part of Sunset's client success function, with a clear path to senior individual contributor or team leadership as the company scales.

What You'll Own

Be the first responder to all client queries across tickets, email, and phone for a dedicated set of accounts

Own customer experience across the full dissolution lifecycle, maintaining high CSAT/NPS and meeting defined SLAs

Handle dissolution-specific work, including IRS 966 filings, asset transfer agreements, third-party account closures, and capital distribution to investors

Onboard new clients into the Sunset platform and orient them on the end-to-end process

Become a subject matter expert in corporate wind-downs, capable of supporting clients at any stage

Drive product feedback and improvement to make Sunset the leading dissolution solution

Collaborate with other CSMs, Engineering, and GTM on client outcomes

Craft educational content for the Sunset help center
