Soma is a neurotechnology company building the world's first software brain computer interface. The cognitive fitness tracker (think Strava for the brain) surfaces trends and insights on mental clarity, cognitive load, stress, and more. Mission: make brain health accessible, measurable, and actionable. Soma is hiring a Head of Engineering to drive technical roadmap and scale the team that will enable a new frontier for health and performance.
About the role
This is a founding leadership role. We are looking for someone who can zoom out to set architecture and roadmap direction, and zoom in to ship code alongside the team. You will work closely with our Founder to drive product direction and iteration, and own everything from infrastructure and reliability to engineering culture and hiring. We want someone deeply hands-on, who has lived in the trenches of 0→1 product development, and who knows when to build for scale and when to move fast and clean it up later.
Ideal qualifications
The kind of person we're looking for: high energy, low ego, deeply mission-driven. Someone who pushes hard and brings out the best in the people around them. Equally comfortable in a product strategy conversation and a code review.
