About this role
Porter is seeking a Growth/Product Engineer to elevate the usability, UX, and visual polish of our platform; you'll join a product-focused engineering team and help define the product's direction and design language. This role matters because high-quality UX and a consistent design system directly improve customer experience and engineering velocity.
What you'll do
- Take Porter's usability and UX/visual polish to the next level across the product.
- Participate in all feature discussions and help shape the trajectory of the product.
- Improve the UI/UX and organization of the dashboard.
- Implement a design system and define the platform's visual language.
- Raise the standard for code quality and contribute to engineering culture.
- Build and maintain UI using React, styled-components, and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with backend and infra teams working with Go, Kubernetes + Helm APIs, Postgres, and Redis.
- Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP as needed.
What Porter is looking for
- Open to all experience levels, including new grads.
- Visa sponsorship available.
- Complete fluency in React, TypeScript, and CSS.
- Strong design chops with an eye for UX and visual detail.
- Experience or interest in implementing and maintaining a design system.
- Commitment to high code quality and improving engineering practices.
- Comfortable iterating at a rapid (often daily) velocity and adapting to shifting priorities.
- Able to wear multiple hats, collaborate closely, and sometimes act in a PM-like capacity to execute product vision.
- Values rapid learning and continuous improvement.
