Founding Backend Engineer
About this role
About Optify
Optify builds advanced video-analytics and agentic systems for global manufacturing floors — helping the world’s largest factories (including luxury goods manufacturers and major auto companies) optimize worker performance and operational efficiency.
We’re not iterating on existing tech — we’re building things that didn’t exist before.
- Nearly $1M ARR (≈$900k+).
- Raising Series A internally targeted for Feb–Mar.
- Working directly with top global manufacturers (e.g., Louis Vuitton’s manufacturing partners).
- Recent breakthroughs:
- Few-shot models: onboarding time dropped from 6 weeks → 2 hours.
- Automated performance-analysis agents replacing 4+ human analysts at client factories.
If you want to work on real optimization problems with real-world constraints — cheap cameras, high-volume data, and hard infra bottlenecks — this is it.
⸻
Role: Founding Backend Engineer
You will be engineer #3 alongside our IIT Bombay founding engineer and CTO.
Expect extremely high technical ownership, work on novel infrastructure problems, and build backend systems that can handle massive video-stream concurrency under cost-constrained hardware.
This is not normal backend work.
It is deep optimization, infra orchestration, and real-time systems.
⸻
What You’ll Do
- Build and optimize backend systems that orchestrate concurrent video streams at scale.
- Work directly with the CTO on hard infra and systems-design problems.
- Contribute to proprietary backend architecture powering Optify’s AI/agent stack.
- Improve system efficiency, reduce deployment costs, and push hardware limits.
- Collaborate on rapid R&D cycles for new AI + CV features.
- Work as a true founding engineer: high agency, zero bureaucracy, huge impact.
