Community Lead
About this role
About HydraDB
AI is stateless — HydraDB fixes that with graphs. We build the graph-native context and memory infrastructure that gives AI agents persistent context: a GraphDB built on object storage with semantic search, git-style temporal versioning, and entity resolution. We've raised $6.5M from investors including Jeff Dean, Sky9 Capital, and researchers from OpenAI and DeepMind.
About the team
The best way to reach developers is not cold email. It's warm relationships built over time, at the right events, in the right rooms with the right topics they want to learn more about. We need someone who knows how to build those relationships.
About the role
This role sits at the intersection of relationship infrastructure and revenue. It is not a brand awareness role. Your north star metric is warm ICP relationships converted to first qualified meetings. You will own HydraDB's presence at conferences and AI meetups, organize events in SF and other key markets, and develop community programming that positions HydraDB as the default graph layer for AI builders. You will work directly with the CEO and the GTM team on outreach strategy.
In this role, you will
- Build and maintain high-trust relationships with the ICP: Directors of Engineering and Heads of AI at seed-to-Series D AI companies
- Organize and host events in SF and other key AI markets
- Represent HydraDB at conferences and AI meetups
- Convert warm relationships into qualified first meetings for the sales team
- Develop community programming that makes HydraDB the name engineers associate with graph infrastructure for AI
Your background looks something like this
- A natural connector: you remember people, follow up without being asked, and bring energy to every room
- Track record of building communities or networks with real business outcomes, not just follower counts
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building a function from scratch
- Based in SF with willingness to travel for conferences and events
Even better if you have
- Prior experience in developer relations, community, or field marketing at a technical company
- Existing relationships in the AI/ML engineering community
- Comfort with basic technical concepts in AI infrastructure — you don't need to code
Benefits
- Competitive comp + meaningful equity: we want builders to own a real piece of what they create
- High-ownership, high-agency: you own a function, a metric, and a motion
- Wellness programs, free daily meals in the office, and top-tier gear + software
- Flexible PTO: optimize for deep work, not busywork
- Learning budget: books, courses, conferences, and compute for experiments
- Team offsites: periodic time together to plan, build, and reset
