Culture and Community Manager
About this role
This role leads the intentional creation and upkeep of Dunia’s culture and community, designing rituals, traditions, and practical systems that help a small, ambitious team feel connected, energized, and effective. You’ll work across founders, engineers, and scientists to surface problems early, run high-quality candidate outreach, and make everyday employee experiences warmer and more reliable.
What youll do
- Design and run weekly rituals, team socials, monthly activities, celebrations, and quarterly offsites.
- Create authentic traditions and shared experiences that feel distinctly Dunia.
- Make all‑hands and collective meetings more energetic, interactive, and participatory.
- Build trusted relationships across the company and keep a continuous pulse on team sentiment.
- Notice disengagement or frustration and reach out proactively to offer support or escalate when needed.
- Review monthly team updates to spot asks, recurring themes, or tone changes and follow through.
- Source and outreach to candidates via LinkedIn, communities, referrals, and other creative channels.
- Screen candidates for motivation, values, judgment, and cultural contribution and support interview coordination.
- Own practical, people‑facing problems that lack an owner and create workable solutions without a full playbook.
- Maintain lightweight people‑ops: onboarding experiences, trackers, follow‑ups, and internal documentation.
- Coordinate across founders, employees, vendors, and external partners and execute details reliably.
What Dunia Innovations is looking for
- Energetic, empathetic, highly organized individual with strong social energy who genuinely enjoys bringing people together.
- Background in community management, employee experience, recruiting, events, hospitality, startup ops, university communities, or similar.
- Strong emotional judgment, ability to handle sensitive conversations, and to rally reluctant participants without making culture feel forced.
- High agency, low ego, comfort operating without detailed playbooks, and willingness to do both visible and unglamorous work.
- Startup mindset: obsessed with speed, urgency, impact, and challenging the status quo.
- AI‑native curiosity and experience: you build workflows, experiment with tools, write prompts, or create automations to make work faster (engineering skills not required).
- Warm, approachable, persistent communicator who can give founders honest, practical views of team sentiment.
