GTM Engineer
About this role
About ****Conversion.ai
Conversion is building the AI-native marketing automation platform for modern software companies. Today, marketing is stitched together from outdated software, enrichment tools, and disconnected workflows. Funnels are broken. Messaging is misaligned. Most teams are flying blind.
Conversion fixes that. Growth teams can build and automate their entire go-to-market motion in one place, from acquisition to activation to retention, in a single interface that is fast, personalized, and powered by AI.
$28M+ raised from Abstract Ventures, True Ventures, and HOF Capital. $6M+ ARR, going from zero to $6M in under 12 months, with 4, 000+ customers. An elite team from Airbnb, Palantir, Pinterest, IMC Trading, Shopify, LinkedIn, and Microsoft.
About the Role
At most organizations, GTM Engineering is siloed. You are either working on outbound or revenue operations. At Conversion, GTM Engineering spans both and everything in between. No two days look the same. You will operate with complete autonomy and be responsible for building the infrastructure that pushes Conversion into its next phase of growth.
This role requires a strong mix of GTM, data, and creative fluency. Some days you will be building large-scale data pipelines. On other days, you will be crafting creative outbound sequences or designing a new intent-signal workflow. Conversion drives a heavy enterprise motion, making data quality and personalization mission-critical. They are looking for a world-class generalist who loves nerding out on new technologies, tweaking outbound copy, and building complex internal data systems.
What You'll Own
Automated Outbound and GTM Engineering
Design and build scalable systems for prospecting, enrichment, and outreach across LinkedIn, email, and partner channels
Craft sequences curated to each channel, including cold email, LinkedIn, partner outbound, and marketing nurture
Set up and ideate new intent signals such as web visits, job changes, job postings, and G2 visits, and orchestrate custom message sequences against them
Build ICP models and segmentation logic to ensure GTM efforts are focused on high-fit accounts
Partner with marketing to run ads, curate ICP lists for webinars, dinners, and conferences
GTM Operations
Create and maintain infrastructure within Salesforce and Conversion to manage how leads flow into systems, get enriched, and live in the CRM
Build and maintain inbound infrastructure, including forms, enrichment, UTM, and source tracking, account qualification, SFDC creation, opportunity flows, and pipeline management
Build a fully enriched master account and contact list within the CRM with all prospect information across MAP, CRM, employee count, work emails, multi-product versus PLG, and more
Maximize data coverage through multiple data vendors to cover the entire TAM
Make the CRM an easily queryable system of record covering cold outbound messages, replies, calls, and enrichments
SDR Enablement
Evaluate, implement, and optimize vendors across the entire GTM stack, including Salesforce, Conversion, Gong, Clay, HeyReach, OutboundSync, Sumble, and others
Equip SDRs with creative playbooks, target accounts and contact lists, and the right tooling to run manual plays at scale
Create workflows and systems that enable sales and marketing automation at scale
Requirements
Must-Have
Primary background in GTM, growth, growth ops, biz ops, or an early-stage chief of staff role, ideally at a Series A or B startup known for a strong GTM motion. Big tech ops or strategy without startup exposure does not substitute.
Systems thinker with technical familiarity. Thinks in systems, wears an engineering hat for edge cases, data flows, APIs, and how tools connect. A CS background is a plus. Does not need to be deeply technical, but it must have the engineering mindset.
Hands-on with the modern GTM stack. Clay, Salesforce, Instantly, Gong, Zapier, HeyReach, and APIs are the core tools. Must be genuinely obsessed with tooling and automation, not just familiar with it.
Data analysis chops. Comfortable with SQL or equivalent tools for data analysis. Loves exploring new analytical approaches and finding patterns in messy data.
Creative GTM sense. Strong instinct for building the right account lists, nurture sequences, playbooks, and custom outbound motions. Equally comfortable doing precision ops work and fast creative experimentation.
Extreme attention to detail. Must think through long-tail items like exclusion lists, field mappings, and duplicates. The ops work is not about moving fast and breaking things. The outbound and experimentation work is. Must be both.
Strong written and verbal communication. Clarity, structure, and confidence in how this person expresses themselves matters as much as their technical output.
Nice-to-Have
Prior experience in Growth Ops, Growth Strategy, or GTM Engineering
Experience at a later-stage startup where they saw what good and bad systems look like at scale
Experience at a company that went through a pre-PMF to post-PMF transition
CS degree or equivalent engineering background
