Responsibilities include recruiting at-risk youth, providing case management services, maintaining contact with participants, developing and facilitating community workshops, researching and developing community resources, attending community events, and ensuring data entry. Demonstrated abilities include solid organizational and case management skills, the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, good communication skills, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and effective listening skills. Acquired knowledge requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, or criminal justice, with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience. Experience working with youth who are juvenile offenders, homeless, or involved in high-risk activities is strongly preferred. This position requires a current driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office/database skills, and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus. * **Peer Educator Prevention:** This on-site role involves educating youth on the effects of high-risk behaviors and making healthy sexual choices, along with providing diversity and equality education. The peer educator works an average of 6-10 hours per week. Essential functions include presenting to youth through interactive and educational sessions, attending staff meetings and ongoing training, serving as a role model, upholding the mission of Alternatives for Girls, and maintaining confidentiality.
