Founding Product Engineer

Bild AI is building computer vision and AI solutions to simplify blueprint reading, cost estimation, and permit applications in construction so teams can build more houses, hospitals, and schools faster and with less waste. This founding Product Engineer role sits on a small, impact-driven product team where you’ll shape and ship core features end-to-end while working directly with customers to solve real-world problems.

What youll do

• Own features end-to-end, interviewing customers weekly and shipping useful iterations by the next week.
• Build UIs that make complex blueprint and hardware data feel simple for people used to paper workflows.
• Work across the stack, contributing to the React frontend and Python backend and infrastructure.
• Act as a 0-to-1 architect and builder, taking ideas from concept to production.
• Translate messy domain knowledge from customers into clear product decisions.
• Shape product direction, not just implementation details.
• Apply strong product taste to how things look, feel, and work for users.
• Communicate with empathy and honesty within the team and to customers.
• Handle the necessary operational work and “schlep” that keeps a seed-stage startup moving.

What Bild AI is looking for

• Experience: open to any level (new grads encouraged); demonstrated ability to build and ship software.
• Technical stack: hands-on with React for frontend and Python for backend and infra.
• Product experience: history of owning features end-to-end and direct customer engagement.
• 0-to-1 experience or strong ability to design architecture and build products from scratch.
• Strong product taste and user-focused design sensibility.
• Excellent communication skills and a growth mindset.
• Bonus: have built something people used/paid for (founder or early startup).
• Bonus: construction domain experience or clear interest in the industry.
• Logistics: SF-based or willing to relocate and work full-time in-office; US work authorization required.
