Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs safety checks every 15 minutes in a behavioral health unit. Responsible for documenting care, taking vital signs, and reporting patient condition changes to the Registered Nurse.
Requires a current CPR certification and one of several qualifications such as CNA, EMT-B, Medical Assistant, or completion of nursing fundamentals. Candidates must be at least 16 years old if enrolled in specific training programs.
The behavioral health Mental Health Tech assists in patient care throughout the behavioral health unit. Duties include assisting patients with their ADL’s, completing 15 minute checks on patients, assisting with group programming, documentation of care and treatments done and observes patients for safety and condition change and reports to appropriate staff.
