The CFO leads the organization's financial strategy, overseeing budgeting, accounting, investments, and treasury functions. This role serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and provides financial leadership to various affiliated organizations.
Requires a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with at least 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience. Deep expertise in accounting standards, financial controls, and experience managing complex nonprofit or association structures is strongly preferred.
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s financial strategy and operations. Reporting to the President/CEO, the CFO serves as a key member of the management team, driving long-term financial planning and organizational sustainability. This role oversees all core financial functions including budgeting, accounting, investments, tax, and treasury functions. The CFO also provides financial leadership and counsel to NAHB’s affiliated organizations, including Home Innovation Research Labs, National Housing Endowment, National Housing Center Corporation, BUILD-PAC, Home Building Industry Disaster Relief Fund, and International Housing Association. This position follows NAHB’s hybrid work schedule, with employees working in person three days per week and remotely two days per week.
The successful candidate will bring both strategic perspective and strong execution, with the ability to lead through complexity, develop strong teams, and partner effectively across a member-driven organization.
