Neighborhood Canvasser / Appointment Setter
W-2 Outside Sales | Commission Only | Weekly Pay | Flexible Daytime Schedule
Lawn Doctor is hiring neighborhood canvassers to book free lawn evaluations with homeowners.
This is a simple, activity-based outside sales role. You are not selling lawn care at the door. Your job is to knock assigned doors, have short, polite conversations, and find homeowners who want one of our Lawn Care Pros to take a look at their lawn.
This is not a pushy sales role. If someone is not interested, you thank them and move on. Our Lawn Care Pros handle the evaluation, recommendations, and sale.
For the right person, this can also be a path into a larger sales role as the company grows.
What You’ll Do
- Knock assigned doors in approved neighborhoods
- Offer homeowners a free lawn evaluation
- Find people with weeds, brown spots, pests, thin grass, or other lawn concerns
- Schedule qualified evaluations with our Lawn Care Pros
- Track doors, notes, and appointments in our app
- Stay polite and professional
You are not expected to diagnose lawn problems, quote prices, promise results, or close the sale at the door.
Numbers Game, Not a Pressure Game
Most people will not answer, already have a provider, or simply say no. Your job is to keep moving and find homeowners who have lawn issues, are unhappy with their current lawn company, do not have a provider, or want a better-looking yard.
Pay
This is a W-2 outside sales position paid through payroll.
This is commission-only. You earn $100 for every qualified appointment you set that turns into a sold customer.
Commission is paid after the customer signs up, receives their first service, and pays their first bill. We pay commissions weekly. Most customers are on autopay, so payment is usually processed quickly after the first service.
Expected earnings for consistent performers may range from $500–$1,500+ per week, depending on activity, appointment quality, territory, and closed sales. Earnings are not guaranteed. There is no cap.
No commission is paid for fake leads, renters who cannot make service decisions, out-of-area properties, duplicate leads, no-shows, or customers who cancel before their first paid service.
Qualified Appointment
A qualified appointment is a homeowner who owns or makes decisions for the property, is in our service area, agrees to a free lawn evaluation, provides accurate contact information, and has a lawn or outdoor service need that fits what we offer.
Schedule and Territory
Canvassers may knock during approved daytime hours, generally between 9:00 AM and dusk. We do not allow canvassing after dark, during twilight, or late in the evening.
We are especially looking for people available during peak hours: late afternoon, early evening before dusk, and/or Saturdays. Those who want to earn more may also work earlier in the day.
Each canvasser will be assigned approved neighborhoods through our app.

- Reliable cell phone and transportation
- Comfortable walking outdoors in Florida weather
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Good communication skills
- Availability during peak hours
- Willingness to use our tracking app
- Ability to stay positive after rejection
Lawn Doctor will provide a company shirt and hat.
Canvassers must follow posted signs, HOA rules, security instructions, and local requirements. Do not enter gated/restricted communities unless legally permitted or approved. Do not enter areas marked “No Soliciting” or “No Trespassing.”
As we grow, strong performers may be considered for future sales opportunities.

Clermont, Minneola, Montverde, Oakland, Winter Garden, Windermere, Ocoee, Apopka, Davenport, SW Orlando, Gotha, Groveland, Mascotte, Killarney, and surrounding areas.
