  • Create a welcoming, organised and efficient office environment for employees and visitors

  • Support the Head of Operations & ESG with operational projects, process improvements and business initiatives

  • Line manage and support the Business Admin team, ensuring consistent and high-quality support across the business

  • Support compliance activities including GDPR, ISO standards, audits and business accreditations

  • Maintain accurate business information across systems including CMAP and reporting tools

  • Coordinate supplier approvals, documentation and internal processes

  • Provide hands-on administrative support where needed, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations

  • Identify opportunities to improve office processes, communication and ways of working

  • Support internal projects including training coordination and improvements to business support services

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Workplace, Facilities, or senior administration role

  • Experience supporting office operations, facilities management and workplace processes

  • Experience managing, mentoring or coordinating administrative teams

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance day-to-day priorities and longer-term projects

  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with reporting tools such as Power BI is beneficial

  • Comfortable managing data, documentation and business systems

  • Experience supporting compliance processes, audits, ISO standards or Health & Safety activities would be advantageous

  • Experience coordinating suppliers, contractors and workplace services

  • Confident communicating with employees, visitors and external partners

About You:

  • A natural organiser who enjoys keeping things running smoothly

  • Friendly, approachable and passionate about creating a positive workplace experience

  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with a willingness to get stuck in

  • Strong attention to detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture

  • Able to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams

  • Calm and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities

As a certified B Corp, our role is to continue to inspire clients and organisations to think differently about their projects and buildings — not just aesthetically and commercially — but for the benefit of the planet and people who use them every day. We’ve been doing this for over 30 years, marrying small details with bigger ideas and revealing hidden opportunities that allow a project to have a positive impact. Our curious and collaborative nature enables us to challenge the status quo and establish new and essential facts — be it across the reuse of materials, digitising entire buildings in great detail, revisiting old craft techniques or embracing academia. As engineers, it’s our job to study, evaluate and steward our built environment. So we always look at the bigger picture — education, technology, health, infrastructure, culture and sustainability — all issues deeply entwined with the built environment. We know we can successfully engineer better buildings — so why not also apply our imaginations to society, culture and beyond? It’s a purpose we call Engineering a Better Society, and it drives us as a business to take action through our day-to-day work and the initiatives we undertake from The Building Archives through to our open-sourced Structural Carbon Tool.
