The coordinator is responsible for promoting a culture of workplace safety by conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and hazard assessments. They will develop safety programs, deliver training, and ensure compliance with federal and local safety regulations.
Candidates must have 2-5 years of experience in construction safety and a Construction Safety Officer introductory course. A valid Class 5 Driver's License and a personal vehicle are required for frequent travel to jobsites.

Job Overview
The occupant of this position looks to create and promote an organizational culture of employee and workplace safety. Reporting to the Safety Manager and Construction Manager the candidate will assist with matters related to occupational health and safety law including; develop initiatives in collaboration with others that are aimed at raising safety awareness; increase employee knowledge of safe work practices; develop health and safety programs; conduct health and safety assessments, conduct follow-up investigations to accidents and incidents; and develop/deliver training programs and manage the company tools and asset program.

Note that the position requires a vehicle, as it entails visiting different jobsites on a weekly basis across the lower mainland. Toolbox Talks/ site visits will need to start when the sites open, and therefore the start time for this position can be as early as 6:00am.
