Hey there! 👋 I'm Marc, a Product Lead with 11 years of experience building B2B financial products. I've spent the past 4½ years at early-stage crypto startups managing $100M-$1.5B in assets. Before that, 7 years as a consultant building complex financial systems for institutions processing hundreds of millions daily. My love for building started early and has run throughout: - Used neural networks in my Operations Research masters thesis to optimise coal inventory levels. - Co-created a tool as side hustle that's still running and paid for 10+ years later. - Built Excel models for trading strategies highlighting exposure and P&L impact (at Baringa). - Created Python prototypes to model gain & loss tax rules (at Coinshift). - Currently experimenting with LLMs to create my own personal productivity system. Consulting at Baringa (#1 UK energy consultancy): - I built trading and risk platforms end-to-end, leading 6 projects from concept to post-launch. - I worked on multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction financial workflows covering trading, risk, finance, legal, compliance, tax and treasury. - I learned to think in systems from some of the world's smartest trading architects. Startups: - I've been an IC, manager and on the leadership team at the same time. - I've learned hard-won lessons about navigating countless opportunities with limited resources. - Beyond typical 'product work', I've overseen security roadmaps, written copy, done customer support, set up analytics and run sales calls. - I've hired and line managed PMs, designers and frontend engineers. Key achievements: - Transformed Coinshift from a free product into a revenue-generating business. - Led a new capability to increase revenue by 35% post launch at Arrakis. - Led implementation of 6 projects under Baringa's Energy award-winning Energy and Commodities team (recognised as #1 consultancy in Energy). - Recently organised a family vacation for 24 people (ages 1-74) travelling for 18 days across South Africa. Catered for lacto-vegetarians, vegans and gluten intolerant folk (: I bring energy and clarity to conversations. With my systems thinking mindset, I anticipate problems early. I care deeply.
