About the role:
My Insurance Broker Corp. is looking to add a dynamic, energetic, and team-oriented Junior Commercial Lines Account Manager. In this role, you will service a portfolio of commercial accounts by managing renewals, handling daily client requests, and remarketing policies when needed. What you’ll be doing:
Account Management & Client Service
- Manage inbound requests from the commercial service queue, processing policy changes across Commercial Property, Liability, Auto, and Specialty Lines for the existing house book of business.
- Review, underwrite, and process endorsement requests from brokers and house clients within established service standards.
- Issue Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for house clients and brokers.
- Complete transactions within EPIC, issue invoices for agency-billed policies, and actively manage related accounts receivable.
- Act as a trusted resource for brokers and clients. Maintain an accessible presence by promptly returning missed calls, ensuring adherence to call-recording protocols.
- Process policy cancellations, offering guidance on next steps while proactively attempting to retain the business where possible.
Relationship Management & Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, brokers, insurance carriers, and internal team members.
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers regarding risk submissions, endorsements, and specific policy inquiries.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless processing, meticulous documentation, and timely follow-ups.
- Work closely with the new business, renewal, and Hamilton teams to identify re-marketing and cross-selling opportunities.
- Address and resolve carrier, client, or broker concerns in a timely manner.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all transactions comply with carrier underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Maintain data accuracy within EPIC, ensuring all applications, files, and client histories are thoroughly documented with detailed notes.
- Proactively identify potential exposure, coverage gaps, or E&O concerns, escalating issues as required.
Growth & Operational Support
- Participate in team meetings, ongoing training sessions, and internal process improvement initiatives.
- Support brokerage goals tied to client retention, growth, and service excellence.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What we need you to bring:
- College Diploma, University Degree, or equivalent professional industry experience.
- RIBO License in good standing.
- 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience within a general insurance brokerage, specifically focused on servicing commercial lines accounts.
- Solid understanding of insurance carrier portals and standard commercial underwriting workflows.
- Experience working with a Broker Management System (EPIC preferred).
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- CIP or CAIB Certification or working towards its completion is considered an asset
