Job Description

IPS is hiring! We are looking for a talented Senior BIM Technician/Coordinator to join our industry-leading CAD/BIM team at our office located in Frankfurt Germany.. 

 

The Senior BIM Technician will work with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Performs complex, significant project-related tasks by providing various CAD/BIM drafting functions for Engineering, Design, and Construction staff. They will work closely with groups made up of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) engineers, designers, and Architects. This is an office based position. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicates with Engineers, Architects and/or clients to deliver and convert submitted drawings which will be used by all disciplines.
• Produces drawings consistent with instructions, guidelines and BIM standards.
• Performs BIM compliance checks of deliverables.
• Prepares files containing selected drawings as needed.
• Provides all other Engineering & Design support tasks including but not limited to: processing shop drawing, comments and computer-aided drafting & design.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Use CAD/BIM software to aid in VDC tasks such as; AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D/P&ID, and any other required 2D and 3D software.
• Willingness to learn new software and develop standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Significant experience in computer assisted drafting and design.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks is required.
• Profound knowledge of the BIM process as it pertains to collaboration and coordination between disciplines.
• Willingness to learn new software and develop standards.
• 5 years relevant industry experience, at least one-year experience working within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
• Ability to work with very little supervision.
• Strong Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background preferred.
• Strong coordination and clash detection skills.
• Experience with, and passionate about, design technology and skilled in its application and practices to increase user effectiveness
• Extensive capabilities with MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
• Must have great organisations skill (juggling multiple jobs and files from multiple vendors) to be able to meet project deadlines.
• Customer service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals (co-workers, clients, vendors) at all levels.
• Able to deal with and resolve conflicts between contractors, clients, and the design team.
