Team & Position Description
Learning Resources/hand2mind is seeking a first shift Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to support the day-to-day maintenance of our warehouse and office facilities (7 AM – 4 PM). This role is responsible for executing work orders, performing preventive maintenance, and completing basic troubleshooting to ensure safe and reliable operations across the facility. This is a hands-on, task-driven role focused on execution, responsiveness, and consistency, with support and escalation to senior team members for complex issues. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting and reaching are required in all areas. Candidate must be self-motivated and willing to work Monday-Friday and Saturday’s if scheduled. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. What You'll Do Day to Day:
- Execute assigned maintenance work orders, including repairs to building systems and warehouse equipment
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment including conveyors, motors, stretch wrappers, pallet jacks, and basic facility systems
- Complete basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC-related issues
- Escalate complex equipment or system issues to the Senior Facilities Maintenance Mechanic or Director as needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all facility safety procedures, including lockout/tagout
- Support general facility upkeep including racking, lighting, doors, docks, and basic infrastructure repairs
- Use the CMMS system to log work performed, update asset information, and track maintenance activity
- Assist with facility projects, equipment moves, or vendor work as directed
- Support maintenance/construction needs across multiple facilities as needed
Key Performance Objectives (KPOs):
- Complete onboarding and demonstrate ability to independently close standard maintenance work orders within 45 days
- Learn facility layouts, key systems, and emergency equipment locations within 60 days
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues within 15 minutes and complete non-emergency work orders within 48 hours
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks on schedule with ≥95% PM compliance
- Accurately log all work orders, parts used, and asset updates in CMMS with no missing entries during quarterly audits
- Demonstrate ability to identify and escalate recurring or unresolved maintenance issues appropriately
- Actively support CMMS rollout and maintain accurate equipment and maintenance data within the first 12 months
Requirements/Preferences:
- 2+ years of experience in facility or industrial maintenance
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and general maintenance practices. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and pneumatics. Exposure to conveyors, stretch wrappers, or material handling equipment.
- Ability to safely use tools and perform physical maintenance tasks (lifting, climbing, bending, etc.)
- Strong reliability, organization, and ability to complete assigned work independently
- Basic problem-solving skills and willingness to escalate when appropriate
- Ability to work a consistent schedule and support occasional overtime or weekend work
- Ability to work independently and in group settings.
- Experience working in warehouse or distribution environments
- Spanish language skills are helpful, but not required

Compensation Range: $31.25– $33.65 per hour – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: years of experience, skill set and location. Total compensation includes profit sharing bonus potential, 401k matching, and a variety of other benefits (details can be found here).
