** Responsibilities
We are seeking to recruit a permanent lecturer in speech and language therapy. The postholder will have recent clinical experience of working as a speech and language therapist in any specialism. This post is suitable for candidates who are well-established clinicians who wish to gain academic teaching experience.
The postholder will deliver lectures across a range of modules including in their specialist area and support assessment and marking. They will be a member of the Professional Studies team running clinical tutorials, liaising with practice educators and visiting students on placement. They will lead a module on one of our programmes. They will contribute to student support as an academic advisor. Other occasional duties to be discussed (e.g. interviewing, curriculum development).
** Person Specification
The successful candidate will be a specialist clinician. They will hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject. They will have experience in teaching and supporting students in Higher Education and
demonstrate commitment to inclusive education. They will have strong organisational and time-management skills and be an excellent communicator. They will be able to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team as well as demonstrate personal initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.
