Oxford BioTherapeutics
Oxford BioTherapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on the development of antibody therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The company currently has between 11-50 employees. Oxford BioTherapeutics is currently hiring for three on-site positions: * **Senior Scientist Mass Spectrometry (Proteomics):** This role will lead the mass spectrometry proteomics laboratory at OBT’s Oxford research facility. The Senior Scientist will generate quantitative proteomics data from human tissues to support OBT’s OGAP verify, oncology target discovery platform. Responsibilities include maintaining and operating Thermo Exploris nano-LC mass spectrometers, training staff in mass spectrometry and proteomics, conducting routine data generation on human oncology samples, collaborating with bioinformatics, supporting human tissue analysis, and generating data for collaborations and new business development. * **Research Associate In Silico:** This on-site position in Oxford supports the discovery, investigation, and presentation of cancer therapeutic targets using bioinformatics-based approaches. The Research Associate will assist with bioinformatics pipelines, routine tasks supporting business development, target discovery, and US labs. Additional responsibilities include working with the bioinformatics team, creating and developing new and existing bioinformatic tools, and analyzing, summarizing, and presenting data. * **Scientist/Sr./Principal Scientist, ADC & Translational Research:** This on-site position focuses on the Oncology ADC pipeline, developing first-in-class ADC therapies. The Scientist will design and execute in vitro and ex vivo experiments, utilize molecular and cell-based techniques, collaborate with various teams, conduct binding affinity assays, and expand in-house capabilities for ADC toxicity. The role involves applying ML/AI approaches and conducting translational research experiments. The technology stack used at Oxford BioTherapeutics includes: Mass Spectrometry, Proteomics, Protein Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Data Analysis, Method Development, Line Management, Thermo Mass Spectrometers, Nano-HPLC Systems, Quantitative Proteomics, Data Recording, Oncology Knowledge, Proteogenomic Methods, NGS Knowledge, Targeted Quantitation Methods, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Antibody-Drug Conjugates, Molecular Techniques, Cell-Based Techniques, Biological Evaluations, Statistical Design, Problem Solving, Collaboration, Communication, Translational Research, Biomarker Discovery, Machine Learning, Data Analysis, Experimental Design, Programming, Python, R, Scientific Literature, Statistics, Data Analysis, Microsoft Office, Attention to Detail, Analytical Skills, Research, Presentation Skills, and Team Collaboration. All three open positions are on-site. The Senior Scientist Mass Spectrometry (Proteomics) position will be based at the Oxford research facility. The Research Associate In Silico and Scientist/Sr./Principal Scientist, ADC & Translational Research positions are also located in Oxford. About the Company
Oxford BioTherapeutics (OBT) is a clinical stage oncology company based in Oxford, UK; San Jose, CA and Morristown, NJ, USA, with a pipeline of first-in-class immuno-oncology (IO) and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) based therapies designed to fulfil major unmet patient needs in cancer therapeutics. Our lead asset, OBT076, is an Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) in Phase 1b clinical development. OBT076's dual mechanism of action allows it to act as a 'primer' to re-engage the patient's immune system while at the same time targeting cancer cells directly. OBT’s proprietary OGAP® target discovery platform is based on one of the world’s largest proprietary cancer membrane proteomic databases, with data on over 5,000 cancer cell proteins providing unique, highly qualified oncology targets, of which three programs are in clinical development in the USA and Europe. The company’s pipeline and development capabilities have been validated through multiple strategic partnerships, including with Boehringer Ingelheim, ImmunoGen and Kite Pharma as well as other world leaders in antibody development (such as Amgen, WuXi, Medarex (BMS), Alere (Abbott)).
