Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also needed. * **Maintenance Supervisor:** The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the continuous maintenance of systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other general duties. This role involves training staff, being on-call for emergency repairs, maintaining logs, ordering supplies, managing the budget, and supervising the maintenance department, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and employee paperwork. Requirements include the ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent time management and organizational skills, the ability to work with technical personnel and residents, a working knowledge of systems like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical, a high school diploma or equivalent, and nursing home experience. Salary is based on experience. * **Maintenance Assistant:** This position will conduct preventive maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting maintenance-related issues, tracking cleaning and paper supplies, and maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets. The Maintenance Assistant will also be responsible for filling out and producing forms requested by the Illinois Department of Public Aid or other inspectors. Requirements include demonstrating empathy and compassion, serving customer needs, using imagination and creativity, and possessing knowledge and skills in electrical maintenance, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, carpentry, and mechanical repairs. Previous experience in building maintenance is also required.
