A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and candidates with 2-4-year degrees and/or AALAS certification or its equivalent are highly preferred. **Research Scientist I (Emotional Brain Institute) (210-2026-02)** This is a 50% research scientist position. The role involves working in the laboratory of Dr. Shuo Chen, which studies the circuit and molecular mechanisms of learning and memory in healthy and disease brains. The successful candidate will lead projects integrating in vivo electrophysiology, in vitro electrophysiology, calcium imaging, animal behavior, omics, and computational modeling. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and two years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or a Master's degree in an appropriate field which may substitute for one year of experience. A PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, or a related field is preferred. Strong skills in neurophysiology and systems neuroscience and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are also preferred. This position is on-site. **Research Support Assistant Level 2 (CDR) (210-2026-01A)** The Research Support Assistant Level 2 will assist the head of the laboratory with maintaining colonies of transgenic mice, organizing and analyzing data, and administrative tasks. A Bachelor's degree in a neuroscience-related field is required. Job duties include: breeding and genotyping of rodents and managing databases of mouse colonies, performing administrative tasks, organizing slides, chemicals, and equipment databases, proofreading papers, and preparing laboratory buffers. Experience with mice/rodents, experience in neuroscience research, and the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. The ability to work in a laboratory setting with others is also required. This on-site position is available.
