The Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) is an organization within the spectator sports industry. With a team of 11-50 employees, the MGA is currently hiring for three open positions. The MGA is seeking Communications Field Team Interns for the Spring/Summer of 2026. The positions are part-time and seasonal, typically involving 1-2 workdays per week, usually between Mondays and Wednesdays. The positions are on-site, and the MGA is seeking candidates from the following locations: * **Communications Field Team Intern 2026 - West/CT:** This role is for candidates in Westchester/Connecticut. * **Communications Field Team Intern 2026 - Long Island:** This role is for candidates on Long Island. * **Communications Field Team Intern 2026 - New Jersey:** This role is for candidates in New Jersey. These positions involve assisting the Communications Department throughout the MGA’s Championship Season. Responsibilities include overseeing scoring operations at MGA Sectional Qualifying Rounds, WGA and LIGA events, and USGA qualifying rounds. Field Team members will oversee live scoring operations utilizing online tournament software, provide instructions to competitors, and troubleshoot as needed. They will also set up TVs for live leaderboards, manage physical scoreboards, and transport event kits. Additionally, they will publish tournament results on www.mgagolf.org, write event recaps, take photos, and contribute to social media coverage. When needed, interns may also assist with scoring and event coverage at MGA Championships and member club events. Essential qualifications include strong writing and communications skills, the ability to work as a team, and the ability to work closely with MGA staff and volunteers. Candidates must be able to work with PCs, tablets, smartphones, TVs, and DSLR cameras. A valid driver's license is required, as the role involves traveling by car throughout the tri-state area and working long hours. Working knowledge of, or an interest in, golf is also required. The positions offer $17.00 per hour plus travel expense reimbursement, along with MGA staff apparel. The Communications Field Team Interns will use technology including PCs, tablets, smartphones, TVs, and DSLR cameras. They will utilize online tournament software. The responsibilities will involve strong writing and communications skills, data entry, event coverage, social media, photography, and live scoring. The positions are on-site. Field team members will travel throughout the tri-state area (New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, and Fairfield County) to cover events. **1.
